Before leaving for the airport
Install the eSIM over stable Wi-Fi if the package instructions allow it, but do not trigger activation early when validity begins on installation. Save the installation details securely and keep a separate offline copy of the setup steps.
- Confirm the phone is carrier-unlocked.
- Read when package validity begins.
- Download maps and boarding documents.
- Save support details without exposing the QR code.
Before takeoff
Label the new line clearly, keep your home line from using mobile data, and leave the travel eSIM disabled if activation should begin only at the destination. Do not delete a profile after it has been installed.
After landing
Enable the travel eSIM, select it for mobile data, and turn on data roaming for that line. Allow a few minutes for registration, then restart the phone or toggle airplane mode if the network does not appear.
